Software Engineer - Backend

The Research & Design Org @ Pave includes data science, engineering, IT, product design, product management, and security teams building and securing a platform used by 8,500+ client organizations. The engineering team uses TypeScript, Node.js, and React, hosted on GCP. The role focuses on building robust, data-rich systems that simplify complex compensation processes at scale. Candidates should have 1-2 years of backend engineering experience or significant internship experience, ideally with TypeScript and Node.js, and some experience building data-intensive applications. Responsibilities include designing secure data architecture, working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, optimizing queries, and collaborating with product managers and designers. The role requires an execution-driven mindset, adaptability in ambiguity, and a collaborative working style. Experience at B2B SaaS companies during rapid growth or platform expansion is a plus. The company embraces a hybrid work schedule with in-office presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at locations including San Francisco HQ.
